Lacey – in progress, Closeup #2, 54in x 54in, Acrylic on canvas, Commission                                                      Usually when I’m working on a portrait, I like to work from dark to light, cool colours to warm colours and I’m constantly correcting when I’m doing the underpainting. This really helps me to get the groundwork done first then focus in on the details and the warm colours later which will bring the portrait to life.
