Earth Day 2020
Today being Earth Day, I was thinking about something to post to show that I value and honour Mother Earth and US as a human race. Instead of just saying ‘Happy Earth Day’ and posting a piece of my art…
If we want to help our planet heal for many reasons (we all know why) – Let’s focus on ourselves and each other, go inside to that part of us that’s uncomfortable and sit there for awhile and try to just notice that they’re there. We’ve been taught NOT to accept that these emotions are OK, but they ARE! It’s ok to feel what we feel. This is how we get in touch with ourselves on a deeper level and grow!!! All that anxiety and sadness, worry, grief, anger and frustration or any other emotions we deem as undesirable are the reasons why we have as a collective whole partially destroyed our planet (and ourselves in many ways). Since we have time right now in this time of physical distancing, why not consider and accept that our mental and emotional states for YEARS and DECADES have been projected onto our beautiful planet and ourselves. If what it takes to heal ourselves is to sometimes simply to be able to sit with our uncomfortable thoughts and feelings even if for a minute or two, can we just please take at LEAST a few minutes a day or a week, whatever time is comfortable and just feel! Yes those feely FEELINGS! 😉 If we can learn how to do this and practice it, we will successfully give back what earth and the natural world need right now and has for so long. For us to act from the deepest part of ourselves that care and know it’s the right thing to do, even if we feel a bit uncomfortable. Let’s not allow the other options like denial and fear to be options. They will only continue to destroy ourselves and each other. There’s only one way out of this and we all know it! Together, connected and not turning away. Thanks for reading my rant ;), I feel strongly about this as I’m sure most of you do too and hope I’ve caught the attention of at least a few people. xo Love and Light.
